The Peranakan Association Singapore
The Peranakan Association Singapore (TPAS) is dedicated to preserving and promoting Peranakan culture through various initiatives, including The Peranakan Magazine and The Peranakan Voices choral group. Run by volunteers and funded by donations, TPAS collaborates closely with sister associations, government bodies, and grassroots organizations. A founding member of the Federation of Peranakan Associations, TPAS hosts key events like The Peranakan Ball and Baba Nyonya Convention. Established in 1900 as the Straits Chinese British Association, TPAS has evolved significantly over the years, playing a pivotal role in advocating for the Peranakan community and strengthening cultural bonds across Southeast Asia and beyond.
