Armand Nicolet
Armand Nicolet’s story began around 1875 in Tramelan, a small town in the Bernese Jura. Following an impressive apprenticeship, Armand, the son of a watchmaker, established his “Atelier d’Horlogerie.” In 1902, he demonstrated his technical skill by creating a pocket watch with a “guilloché” rose gold case, enamel dial, single-button chronograph, complete calendar, and repeating hours, quarter hours, and minutes. His designs, masterpieces of beauty and precision, are displayed in Nicolet SA’s museum and attract collectors worldwide. Upon his death in 1939, his son Willy expanded the enterprise. In 1987, Willy’s encounter with Italian entrepreneur Rolando Braga led to a strategic collaboration, blending Swiss expertise with Italian creativity.
